Eric had certainly given her a lot to think about, and that meant she had some soul searching to do. Everything was happening so fast, but it was Gran’s voice in her mind that guided her just as it always had. Sookie remembered Gran telling her to trust her instincts because they were good ones. So what did her gut tell her about Eric?
She realized that she had to let go of what had happened in Dallas. Eric was never going to apologize for that because he had merely followed his own instincts. Whether it was right or wrong no longer mattered. What did matter were his reasons for doing it. Bill had tried to convince her that it was because Eric was trying to come between them, and at the time she had believed it but Sookie no longer saw it that way.
Knowing what she knew now, she understood that Eric could have taken her if he really wanted to. There would have been consequences for it, but because she hadn’t been bonded to Bill she would have been up for grabs. Bill hadn’t bonded himself to her because he didn’t intend to keep her to himself. He planned to give her over to the queen whether Sookie wanted it or not.
But Eric… Eric wouldn’t share. Once she was agreed to be his there would be no going back. There would be no breaking their bond. For the rest of her life she would be tied to Eric, and that was a big commitment to make. Of course there would be pros and cons to bonding herself to Eric, but when she weighed the risk to the reward the scales were very clearly tipped in one direction.
Sookie knew what her choice would be, but she decided to sit on it for a while. She noted that Eric hadn’t outright asked her to be his. He had made an offer that was presented somewhat like it was nothing more than a business deal up until he got to the tale end of his speech. That was when he had revealed that he cared for her, and judging by the expression on his face when he had spoken the words his feelings were both very real and quite confusing to him. They were a direct defiance of his Maker’s teachings, and that was a contradiction to the vampire Sookie had met in Dallas. It was a tangled web of things to sort through, which was why she was allowing her instincts to choose.
“Eric,” Sookie began when he started to pull away. “Have you eaten yet?”
“No,” he said, his hand still on her cheek.
Sookie tilted her head to the side and moved his hand to her neck. If she was considering bonding herself to him she was sure feeding him on a regular basis would be a part of that. In spite of having fed him just that morning, she didn’t feel sluggish or weak. In fact, she felt rather invigorated by it.
Eric’s eyes met hers for the briefest of moments before he began to lean into her. Her heartbeat got louder in her ears as he got closer. At the last second Sookie turned her head and he stilled to meet her eyes.
“What do you want from me, Eric?” Sookie asked, feeling overcome by the feeling of déjà vu.
“Everything,” he answered in a whisper.
In a single word he managed to be vague and make a point at the same time. Sookie turned her face again to give him better access to her throat, but Eric turned it back. He looked into her eyes, and she noticed for the first time how deep his eyes were. Their color was beautiful, but it was the soul in them that she was finally seeing and she was the one to close the distance between them.
When their lips met there was an unexpected jolt to her system. She was already aware of how good a kisser Eric was, but it was different now that she knew his feelings for her went deeper than lust and desire. He kissed her with passion and sweetness, taking his time exploring her mouth when her lips parted for him. Sookie felt him take unnecessary breaths between kisses, and his hands never drifter lower than her neck.
That is, until she moved them for him. Sookie allowed herself to get swept up in his kisses, and without even being aware it had happened she found herself trapped underneath him. When Eric tugged at her shirt, she moved to let him take it off. His lips moved quickly to taste and cover the newly naked skin. Sookie pulled his shirt off as well, and piece by piece their clothing continued to litter the floor.
Sookie turned off her mind, which was easy to do when she could latch onto the void of the vampire she was with. She concentrated on all the things she was feeling, and in that moment she felt like the most beautiful, wanted thing in the world. She discovered quickly that Eric was every bit as good as the fangbangers remembered him to be. He was both talented and generous, and while she was in bed with him she didn’t mind him being ruthless either.
He kissed the inside of her thighs and blew cool breaths over her slick, heated center. Sookie sucked in air as quickly as her lungs would allow it, and moaned loudly when she felt the softness of his tongue parting her folds. Bill had never gone down on her, but she had seen it in enough minds to know it was a very pleasurable experience if done right. She shivered when she felt the tickle of Eric’s fang being dragged along her lower lips.
Her hand came down and made itself at him in his hair while his hands gripped her hips to hold her in place so his tongue could go to work on her most sensitive parts. Sookie looked down at him to find he was watching her eyes. There was such intensity in them, and when his mouth closed around her clit, her back arched up off the bed. Sookie braced herself on her elbow to watch Eric as he pleasured her with just his mouth.
Her moans got louder and more frequent as she neared her release, but it was the sudden use of his thick, long fingers inside her that sent Sookie hurdling into another stratosphere. She screamed with her release, having never felt anything like it. Eric kissed his way up her shaking body, his fingers still slowly pumping in and out of her. When his mouth reached hers she tasted herself on him.
“You are exquisite, Sookie,” he said against her lips, and crooked his fingers inside her to rub against a spot that made everything in her world seem to turn inside out.
Sookie gasped as her walls fluttered around his fingers. Her hands came up and cupped Eric’s face. She kissed him softly and said, “Bite me, Eric.”
He kissed her deeply, and then moved to her neck. He kissed, licked and nipped it until settling on the spot where he would bite. He could feel Sookie building toward another climax, and he timed his bite perfectly so that it sent her over the edge. Sookie didn’t feel the bite at all. She was too far gone in the pleasure she was feeling to notice the sting of his fangs as he bit.
He drank from her but didn’t take too much. He sliced his tongue on his fang and healed the wounds on Sookie’s throat, and much to his surprise when he pulled back she pushed him to roll them over. Sookie straddled his waist and Eric’s hands went to her chest. She knew there was no going back after this, and so she leaned down to speak against his lips while she placed his erection at her entrance.
“This is the beginning,” she whispered, and then took him as deep inside her as she could.
She watched Eric’s face as she took him in, her hands braced in his silent chest. His hands ghosted down her sides to her hips, and helped her find a rhythm as she rocked back and forth on top of him. She could hear her heartbeat in her ears so it must have been almost deafening for him. Sookie leaned down and kissed him as her hips began to rise and fall.
They rolled again, and Sookie’s legs wrapped around him. Their kiss broke and Sookie looked down between their bodies to watch where they were joined. Her eyes rolled when Eric tilted her hips a little higher and hit that spot inside her. Sookie cried out and her finger dug into his shoulders as yet another climax began to build inside her. But then the show was cut off by Eric taking one of her nipples in his mouth. Her hips rose to meet his thrusts, and when his thumb began to rub against her clit Sookie felt the pressure inside her slowly start to release itself.
The pleasure seemed to go on forever, and she didn’t even notice the chanting of Eric’s name as the bliss rippled through her. What she did notice, when she opened her eyes, was that her hands were glowing. She screamed at the sight of it, but then Eric’s orgasmic roar drowned out the sound of hers. She felt him spill inside her, and the glow of her hands got brighter. Eric collapsed on top of her but braced most of the weight on his arms.
He kissed her lazily, but immediately noticed she was distracted.
“Sookie, what’s wrong? Did I hurt you?” he asked with concern.
“No,” she shook her head, but then moved her hands so he could see them. They were still glowing. “Eric, what’s happening to me?”
