Buenos dias, lovers! So I got an interesting offer from Scribe’s older sister this week that involves me going down to Florida for six weeks to take care of the Precious Babies, Sassy and Mr. Conductor (accurate nicknames, yes, Scribe?). After a little anxiety attack (because I haven’t left the midwest since I was 14 and on my 8th grade trip to D.C.) and an argument with my mother (who is… a hot mess), I decided to go for it. So, as of Thursday I will be out of Chicago for the first time in years. It’s going to be a long couple of days getting from here to Florida. Lots of driving going down since I have only spoken to Sassy via Skype and Mr. Conductor is only 2 so he has no idea who I am. Sassy, btw, is the little monster that was doing that geography project some of you were amazeballs enough to contribute to. Anyway, I’ll be in Florida. I’m taking my tablet with me but not a laptop. I’ll have access to one but it’ll be somewhat limited, so I’m not sure how frequently I’ll be updating this blog. I’ll try to remember to do it once a week. We’ll see how busy I am chasing the Precious Babies.
In the meantime, I do come bearing a new chapter of Free. I have some banked up so it’s just a matter of remembering to post.
Alright, so this is my birthday present to my wonderful partner in crime, Scribeninja. It was going to be a one shot but my brain doesn’t seem to be capable of writing those anymore unless it’s all porn. Crazy, right? Anyway… this is a concept I have wanted to work with for quite some time but I really do owe a huge thanks to Ali for reviving the idea in my mind after I read her third entry in the I Write the Songs contest. You should go read it here if you haven’t already because it’s quite excellent, especially if you’re jonesing for a happier ending than what we got with the end of the Southern Vampire Mysteries series.
So anyway, I present to you, Resurrection.
SUMMARY: In a world where vampires are unknown to humans, the last thing Sookie Stackhouse expected after a Hitchcock double feature was to fall prey to one. Follow along on her journey to accept her new circumstances with the help of her maker. Will she choose to remain immortal, or will she meet the sun before the end of her first year?
Happy birthday to Scribe and I hope you all enjoy the first installment of her gift.
I’m going to start by thanking everyone that participated in the Emma Meets World project.
Most of your goodies were stuffed into that box and mailed to her while Scribe was here, and she was thrilled to receive it. So thank you all for sending me the things you did and helping Emma learn a little more about the world around her.
I’ve been stuck on Cross Out Name and I’ve just been a shit about updating on a weekly basis. I have a few chapters banked, but I keep forgetting to upload them for you. Have no fear, I’ve added a new one so you can now get on with the next chapter. Hopefully my brain will unfuck itself and I can get back to work on it. I will finish that story, I promise! I’m changing the layout on my page so that all of the chapters will appear in the sidebar from now on since there are so many complaints about the drop down menu at the top. I’m going to work on adding previous and next links, but as I’ve said before, that’s a time consuming process. Seriously, it’s not that hard to just use the drop down. Also, if you’re reading from a mobile device, considering downloading the WP app. It’s super easy to use and very reader friendly.
Writing with Missy Dee has been very productive for us both. I’m super excited about teaming up with her. I still love writing with Scribe, but there’s a definite difference in the kinds of stories I can write with Missy as opposed to what I can write with Scribe. When I told Scribe about Play With Fire her first reaction was, “No.” I like that the stories Missy and I are talking about writing all have a taboo-ish edge to them and might make people cringe a little bit but they become almost guilty pleasure type stories without getting so far from reality that you can’t recognize the situations as being ones that could actually happen.
Which leads me to a little rant I need to expel from my system. I’m going to put the majority of this under a cut so that anyone not reading Play With Fire doesn’t have to read this or get spoiled with this post if they were planning to wait until it’s finished posting to read it. Check me out being all considerate and shit…
Yep, late again on the posting. I suck. I remembered last night but just didn’t do it. Why? Well, I got busy writing with Missy Dee. That’s right, kiddies, we’ve teamed up to write a story that is chock full of porn. You just don’t even know.
SUMMARY: Eric is trapped in a loveless marriage with six kids, and no hope of ever truly being happy. Then he plans a bachelor party at The Cathouse for his best friend. While there he meets Dixie Darling, one of the working girls. She’s everything he’s ever wanted in a woman and temptation is just too much for him to walk away from. He becomes a regular client to her and breaks the number 1 rule of getting involved with a girl like Dixie. He falls in love with her.
This story will include angsty bits, as the summary suggests. We’ve created a blog here on WordPress where we’ll be posting this story so that either of us can post and/or respond to your reviews/comments. I don’t know if we’ll get into the habit of writing together regularly, but it’s a possibility. So far things are going quite well and she’s a great writing partner. When this idea came to me I texted her immediately, mostly because this is exactly the kind of story that’s up her alley. She suggested we write it together and BOOM! Dirty Lemons was born. Lame name, I suppose, but it was all I could come up with.
Trust me, the porn is better. There is an actual plot to this story, but there’s plenty of citrus mixed in to keep things interesting. To say the least.
In other news, Scribeninja arrives on Friday and I’m so fucking stoked she’s coming into town. She’ll be staying with me for a few days before going on to stay with SophieMyst for a little bit. I’ll try to get a pic or two of us to include on the next post. Maybe we’ll do a video blog? Hmmm…
Anyway, for anyone still reading, Chapter 12 of Crossed Out Name is here, so go read it.
Have a great week!
Yep, I forgot to post on Monday again, but at least I’m remembering to post Over You, so that counts for something, right?
I’m truly amazed by the volume of stuff I’ve received for the geography project Scribe’s niece is doing. My continued thanks to everyone that has offered to send things for this. She knows things are coming and she’s super jazzed about it, so thank you!
I did an interview for the Fangreaders that you can read here if you’re so inclined.
Scribe and I have finished another story in only 21 chapters called Stolen. It will start posting when we finish posting Over You. We are now working on another collaboration called Ain’t No Grave, and we’re both super excited about this. I actually rocked out an entire outline for this story in just a few hours, and that pretty much never happens. It’s different from the other things we’ve written together to date, so I’m excited to see how this turns out. That will most likely start posting when Stolen is all up.
And finally, the new chapter of Crossed Out Name is up. It’s set to automatically update on Mondays, so if I have brain fail and forget to post an alert, just take a look on Monday afternoon and it should be there. I’ll try to get better about sending out these posts.
I hope everyone is having a great week!
