It’s Been A While…

I’m going to start by thanking everyone that participated in the Emma Meets World project.

Most of your goodies were stuffed into that box and mailed to her while Scribe was here, and she was thrilled to receive it. So thank you all for sending me the things you did and helping Emma learn a little more about the world around her.

I’ve been stuck on Cross Out Name and I’ve just been a shit about updating on a weekly basis. I have a few chapters banked, but I keep forgetting to upload them for you. Have no fear, I’ve added a new one so you can now get on with the next chapter. Hopefully my brain will unfuck itself and I can get back to work on it. I will finish that story, I promise! I’m changing the layout on my page so that all of the chapters will appear in the sidebar from now on since there are so many complaints about the drop down menu at the top. I’m going to work on adding previous and next links, but as I’ve said before, that’s a time consuming process. Seriously, it’s not that hard to just use the drop down. Also, if you’re reading from a mobile device, considering downloading the WP app. It’s super easy to use and very reader friendly.

Crossed Out Name: Chapter 15

Writing with Missy Dee has been very productive for us both. I’m super excited about teaming up with her. I still love writing with Scribe, but there’s a definite difference in the kinds of stories I can write with Missy as opposed to what I can write with Scribe. When I told Scribe about Play With Fire her first reaction was, “No.” I like that the stories Missy and I are talking about writing all have a taboo-ish edge to them and might make people cringe a little bit but they become almost guilty pleasure type stories without getting so far from reality that you can’t recognize the situations as being ones that could actually happen.

Which leads me to a little rant I need to expel from my system. I’m going to put the majority of this under a cut so that anyone not reading Play With Fire doesn’t have to read this or get spoiled with this post if they were planning to wait until it’s finished posting to read it. Check me out being all considerate and shit…

Yep, late again on the posting. I suck. I remembered last night but just didn’t do it. Why? Well, I got busy writing with Missy Dee. That’s right, kiddies, we’ve teamed up to write a story that is chock full of porn. You just don’t even know.

Play With Fire

SUMMARY: Eric is trapped in a loveless marriage with six kids, and no hope of ever truly being happy. Then he plans a bachelor party at The Cathouse for his best friend. While there he meets Dixie Darling, one of the working girls. She’s everything he’s ever wanted in a woman and temptation is just too much for him to walk away from. He becomes a regular client to her and breaks the number 1 rule of getting involved with a girl like Dixie. He falls in love with her.

This story will include angsty bits, as the summary suggests. We’ve created a blog here on WordPress where we’ll be posting this story so that either of us can post and/or respond to your reviews/comments. I don’t know if we’ll get into the habit of writing together regularly, but it’s a possibility. So far things are going quite well and she’s a great writing partner. When this idea came to me I texted her immediately, mostly because this is exactly the kind of story that’s up her alley. She suggested we write it together and BOOM! Dirty Lemons was born. Lame name, I suppose, but it was all I could come up with.

Trust me, the porn is better. There is an actual plot to this story, but there’s plenty of citrus mixed in to keep things interesting. To say the least.

In other news, Scribeninja arrives on Friday and I’m so fucking stoked she’s coming into town. She’ll be staying with me for a few days before going on to stay with SophieMyst for a little bit. I’ll try to get a pic or two of us to include on the next post. Maybe we’ll do a video blog? Hmmm…

Anyway, for anyone still reading, Chapter 12 of Crossed Out Name is here, so go read it.

Have a great week!

I’m Lame. I Admit It.

Yep, I forgot to post on Monday again, but at least I’m remembering to post Over You, so that counts for something, right?

I’m truly amazed by the volume of stuff I’ve received for the geography project Scribe’s niece is doing. My continued thanks to everyone that has offered to send things for this. She knows things are coming and she’s super jazzed about it, so thank you!

I did an interview for the Fangreaders that you can read here if you’re so inclined.

Scribe and I have finished another story in only 21 chapters called Stolen. It will start posting when we finish posting Over You. We are now working on another collaboration called Ain’t No Grave, and we’re both super excited about this. I actually rocked out an entire outline for this story in just a few hours, and that pretty much never happens. It’s different from the other things we’ve written together to date, so I’m excited to see how this turns out. That will most likely start posting when Stolen is all up.

And finally, the new chapter of Crossed Out Name is up. It’s set to automatically update on Mondays, so if I have brain fail and forget to post an alert, just take a look on Monday afternoon and it should be there. I’ll try to get better about sending out these posts.

Read Chapter 11 here…

I hope everyone is having a great week!

Crossed Out Name Chapter 10

Eric had to be out of his clodhopping mind if he thought Sookie was going to wear the outfit he’d picked out for her. No. Way. In. Hell. There were prostitutes that dressed classier than what Eric was expecting her to wear. Sookie threw the door open and marched into the bedroom.

“Do you see anything about me that says I want to look like a low rent Gothic hooker?” Sookie demanded. Her hands were on her hips, her chest was heaving as she struggled to control herself and that Viking son of a bitch was smirking at her. Smirking!

“You’ll look like a vampire’s pet,” Eric reasoned.

“It’s such a damn stereotype!” Sookie yelled back. “If I have to wear that hot mess, you have to wear a cape.”

“A cape?” Eric quirked an eyebrow.

“Yes. In pretty much every old Dracula movie I’ve ever seen, the vampire always has a ridiculous widow’s peak and a cape on. So if you want me to dress like I just escaped the Red Light District, you owe me a cape, buddy.” Sookie poked him in his chest for good measure.

For the first time Sookie got a taste of Eric’s intimidating side. His fangs were suddenly right there in her face. Eric was definitely in her personal space and not because he was feeling playful. She’d poked the bear one too many times, apparently.

“I’m doing you the favor, not the other way around. Any time you want to call this off, just say the word and I’ll arrange for another vampire to take my place,” Eric snarled at her.

Once again, Sookie didn’t back down, even though she was a little scared of him. She didn’t want to leave, she just didn’t want to wear the hooker costume. On the other hand, she was sure that he didn’t really want to get roped into her mess and he was doing her a favor. In her head she heard Gran telling her that she made her bed, now it was time to lay in it.

“Fine. You win,” Sookie relented, keeping her tone defiant.

I’m Late! I’m Late!

Yes, I know I was supposed to post on Monday. I meant to and then completely forgot to do it.  I could make a bunch of excuses but there isn’t much point. Anyway… the new chapter is up for reading so you can check that out.

I also found out yesterday that I have been nominated for three Fangreader Awards!!!

Two of them are for The Playground and one is for beta’ing Missy Dee’s story “What I Got“. How psyched am I, you ask? Very! Missy Dee was also nominated several times over for her various works in the past year and I will be shocked if she doesn’t moonwalk away with at least one award. Wifey was also nominated for “All In” and her secret story “Secrets That We Keep,” which is now no longer a secret.

Not to toot my own horn or anything, but I am really proud of The Playground. Not just because it was so well received by so many readers, but because I finished it (if you follow me you know what a huge deal that is lol) but also because I took a risk in posting it. There are plenty of people that aren’t into reading a story that deals with that sort of subject matter and I knew I was running the risk of offending someone or making them roll their eyes with all of the BDSM stuff that’s been going around thanks to that fucked up trilogy which I shall not name. If you don’t know what I’m referring to, consider yourself lucky because I wish it would just go the fuck away already.

But anyway… I’m proud of the way that story turned out. It took a lot of research to be able to write it (and not just because of the kink). When I first started writing SVM fic a few years ago there is no way I could have written a story like this. I couldn’t even use the slang terminology I use now without getting all blushy faced and uncomfortable. So I’ve grown and evolved as a writer since then, and I’m excited about seeing that change in myself. So it means a lot to me that that particular story has been recognized.

Enough jibber jabber from me. If you’re interested in voting in this years awards please go here and do so. Help make some author’s day. Voting is open until April and the awards will be announced on May 4, 2013. It’s not official yet but I’m pretty sure kjwrit and I will be attending the awards together with our fantasy Skars between us. We’re already stocking up on Heineken and rainbow condoms for the after party.

And just in case you’re interested, here’s the new chapter of Crossed Out Name that should have gone up on Monday.

Crossed Out Name: Chapter 6

Have a great weekend, lovers xoxo
