Feel free to tune this post out if you’re not reading I Already Met You over on Dirty Lemons. This post, in particular, pertains to chapter 7, so if you’re waiting to read it all in one go or aren’t interested, don’t bother reading below the cut, mmkay? Cool.
Taken from that time Missy was here in the Windy City getting her Giordano’s and 312 beer on. *sigh* Those were the days, weren’t they, dearest? Someday we’ll reunite! Maybe next time I’ll come see you and Stinky dog. And Stinky Roommate. We can laugh at the heads that don’t match bodies and I’ll bring earplugs so we can block out the screaming of those Hot Topic leggings that are three sizes too small.
who what I’m talking about.
We can go to the wine trails and I’ll get bombed on two glasses of wine because I’m a classy broad with a low tolerance for alcohol and then I’ll get the munchies like a stoner (and we can make pumpkin/maple scones and like 3 pounds of bacon) because that’s how I roll when I’m drunk. Seriously. It’s actually pretty funny.
So go wish Missy a super awesome birthday because she’s super awesome and she can’t have Chicago pizza. That makes her sad. No one should be sad on their birthday.
For the rest of you I have the new chapter of Free. It’s a day late but meh. At least you’re getting it, right? Oh and Scribe deserves a shout out for writing Stan in this story because he’s pretty rad.
First of all, thank you to everyone who left me well wishes for my upcoming travels. Y’all are sweethearts and I appreciate the positive vibes floating my way.
For those that don’t know it, the winners for the You Want Blood Awards were posted here very late last night (bless central time!). Can I just say that I was pretty much knocked on my ass when I saw this?
Because I was. Holy crap, y’all! I really wasn’t expecting that story to place, let alone win the category! I suppose, though, if you want some crazy drama it doesn’t get any better than LTS. It spawned some fun OCs and I remember having a blast writing it, but that was years ago. Like I put down Always For You to start that story. At least I finished it but still… haha.
But that’s not all! There’s also all these:
I have to thank Scribe and Missy as well, because they’re obviously integral parts of the Brainmates and Dirty Lemons machine. I love them both and working with each of them has been wonderful. I’m also proud of Missy for her individual wins. The first thought in placing third for the Mr. January award? I’d happily have a threesome with Wifey and Heather any day of the week!
You know what’s kind of funny to me? I won an award for doing the beta thing and I don’t even beta anymore. I almost feel like I should recuse myself from that award but I’ll just pull a Kathy Griffin and say, “Suck it, Jesus! This award is my god now!”
Okay so I told Adriana that I was going to write up a post about the Eric I wrote for the Fire Diaries series. This post may contain some spoilery material for that series so read on only if you want to be spoiled for upcoming events. I promise that I won’t get too detailed and once the series is complete I will post about him again because I’m sure there will be more thoughts on this version of Eric. The rest of this is under the cut for those that don’t want spoilery bits.
I’m going to start by thanking everyone that participated in the Emma Meets World project.
Most of your goodies were stuffed into that box and mailed to her while Scribe was here, and she was thrilled to receive it. So thank you all for sending me the things you did and helping Emma learn a little more about the world around her.
I’ve been stuck on Cross Out Name and I’ve just been a shit about updating on a weekly basis. I have a few chapters banked, but I keep forgetting to upload them for you. Have no fear, I’ve added a new one so you can now get on with the next chapter. Hopefully my brain will unfuck itself and I can get back to work on it. I will finish that story, I promise! I’m changing the layout on my page so that all of the chapters will appear in the sidebar from now on since there are so many complaints about the drop down menu at the top. I’m going to work on adding previous and next links, but as I’ve said before, that’s a time consuming process. Seriously, it’s not that hard to just use the drop down. Also, if you’re reading from a mobile device, considering downloading the WP app. It’s super easy to use and very reader friendly.
Writing with Missy Dee has been very productive for us both. I’m super excited about teaming up with her. I still love writing with Scribe, but there’s a definite difference in the kinds of stories I can write with Missy as opposed to what I can write with Scribe. When I told Scribe about Play With Fire her first reaction was, “No.” I like that the stories Missy and I are talking about writing all have a taboo-ish edge to them and might make people cringe a little bit but they become almost guilty pleasure type stories without getting so far from reality that you can’t recognize the situations as being ones that could actually happen.
Which leads me to a little rant I need to expel from my system. I’m going to put the majority of this under a cut so that anyone not reading Play With Fire doesn’t have to read this or get spoiled with this post if they were planning to wait until it’s finished posting to read it. Check me out being all considerate and shit…
Yep, late again on the posting. I suck. I remembered last night but just didn’t do it. Why? Well, I got busy writing with Missy Dee. That’s right, kiddies, we’ve teamed up to write a story that is chock full of porn. You just don’t even know.
SUMMARY: Eric is trapped in a loveless marriage with six kids, and no hope of ever truly being happy. Then he plans a bachelor party at The Cathouse for his best friend. While there he meets Dixie Darling, one of the working girls. She’s everything he’s ever wanted in a woman and temptation is just too much for him to walk away from. He becomes a regular client to her and breaks the number 1 rule of getting involved with a girl like Dixie. He falls in love with her.
This story will include angsty bits, as the summary suggests. We’ve created a blog here on WordPress where we’ll be posting this story so that either of us can post and/or respond to your reviews/comments. I don’t know if we’ll get into the habit of writing together regularly, but it’s a possibility. So far things are going quite well and she’s a great writing partner. When this idea came to me I texted her immediately, mostly because this is exactly the kind of story that’s up her alley. She suggested we write it together and BOOM! Dirty Lemons was born. Lame name, I suppose, but it was all I could come up with.
Trust me, the porn is better. There is an actual plot to this story, but there’s plenty of citrus mixed in to keep things interesting. To say the least.
In other news, Scribeninja arrives on Friday and I’m so fucking stoked she’s coming into town. She’ll be staying with me for a few days before going on to stay with SophieMyst for a little bit. I’ll try to get a pic or two of us to include on the next post. Maybe we’ll do a video blog? Hmmm…
Anyway, for anyone still reading, Chapter 12 of Crossed Out Name is here, so go read it.
Have a great week!
